Indeed, it is the American information site specializing in the world of cinema and television TVLine which revealed this new project. We learn in particular that the future alternative version of the television show would be produced by Roberto Aquirre-Sacasa, the creator of Riverdale, the successful series broadcast since 2017. Two other names have also filtered: Jamie O’Brien (creator of NOS4A2) and Alan Ball (creator and showrunner of True Blood).
What reboot for True Blood?
They are expected to take on the roles of pilot co-author and executive producer, respectively. Something to make salivate those who loved the series and were nostalgic for its stop 6 years ago.
As a reminder, True Blood is an adaptation of the novels of The Southern Community by Charlaine Harris. The latter had managed to find its audience since the 3rd and 4th seasons had been real audience cards for HBO with more than 5 million viewers per broadcast.
On the other hand, it is not yet known whether the main characters of the original series played on screen by Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten and Alexander Skarsgård will be kept for this reboot. However, there is every reason to believe that more information on this subject will certainly be revealed in the coming months.
