A series derived from Game of Thrones in preparation for broadcast on the HBO Max platform

Barely the series Game of Thrones that a new one has just been announced. As has been said in talks for some time, even before the fantastic hit series ended, the American channel HBO, which broadcast for 10 years Game of Thrones, just announced last night a spin off/prequel series (i.e. what happened before) at the Iron Throne.

The story will take place well before the events reported in Game of Thronessince it will happen 300 years earlier. Based on the books of the author George R.R. Martin, Fire and Bloodthis new series will focus on the Targaryen house.’

On the poster unveiled by HBO, we can discover the name of this series which will simply be called “HBO House of the Dragon ». The channel announced that it has ordered 10 episodes for this first season, which will be broadcast on the new HBO Max platform, available in May 2020. On the principle of streaming and video-on-demand, the platform will work like its Netflix, Hulu or Disney + counterparts for $14.99 (or 13.50 euros) per month.

The series should be produced by George R.R. Martin himself and Miguel Sapochnik who had already officiated on the mother series by directing a few episodes.

A risky and ambitious gamble for the channel, which wishes to extend the global success of Game of Thrones this time by offering strong competition to other streaming services in order to stand out. The poster’s catchphrase unveiled tonight already announces the colour by replacing the very famous ” Winter is coming “by” Fire will Reign ” (Fire will reign).

But for that, we will have to be patient.
