It’s been in the pipes for several months and it’s now official! Colin Farrell will play the Penguin in the upcoming Batman movie to be directed by Matt Reeves.

It was the director himself who confirmed the news through a mysterious and subtle tweet: “Wait, is that you? » accompanied by the hashtag #Oz (diminutive of Oswald Cobblepot, the civil name of the Penguin) and an emoji representing a bat. A message with a slap in the face from Colin Farrell.

The Irish actor has therefore just joined a rather prestigious cast for this Batman reboot, which will be awaited at the turn after the excellent trilogy directed by Christopher Nolan.
Alongside Colin Farrell, we will find Robert Pattinson as Batman, but also Paul Dano as Mystery Man, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.
Entitled “The Batman”, this new film about the Dark Knight has already started shooting and is due to be released in cinemas on June 25, 2021.
