The 30 Million Friends Foundation has denounced “the list of shame” held by France for animal abandonment, especially during the summer months.

Every year, 100,000 animals are abandoned, 60,000 of them during the summer period. And what could be better than a good advertising spot that shows the different situations to make the population react? The association 30 Million Friends understood this well and then decided to react, by unveiling their new campaign, and at the same time announce that Europe has the largest number of dropouts.

The President of the 30 Million Friends Foundation, Reha Hutin, was keen to express herself in the choice of their new campaign: “This is the record of shame. It’s an electroshock campaign! We have been saying the same things every summer for 30 years. You have to hit your fist on the table and say that’s enough. she told AFP on Monday.

“What we’re showing is real life, it’s not the bastard on duty who gives up… it’s the neighbor, the cousin, the gentleman or the lady.”

In the video, different animals: dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits… all present and all abandoned by their master. All profiles are also different, whether it is a little girl, a man, a woman, an elderly person, as Reha Hutin says, everyone is able to give up. In the background, Queen’s music, a wise and not without meaning.

“We were lucky that Queen gave us the rights to this song because Brian May, the guitarist, is a fervent animal advocate […] Freddie Mercury was a cat lover and had eight of them in his house”.

The campaign is available on YouTube and on the Foundation’s website, hoping that the message will not go unnoticed.
