Mads Nordsveen came face to face with a rare baby white reindeer and this photographer, armed with his camera, immediately captured the event. “He came very close to me and we looked into each other’s eyes.” he told Caters News.

“I was walking in the mountains in search of beautiful landscapes for my travel photography when I saw this wonderful little creature (…). He was pretty relaxed when he saw how calm and friendly I was. It was almost as if he was posing for the camera”, describes Mads Nordsveen.
This baby white reindeer is rare. According to some Scandinavian traditions, observing one is considered a sign of good luck.
White reindeer have an unusual genetic mutation that strips their fur of pigment to allow them to blend in with their snowy surroundings. They are not albino because of their eyes and woods that keep their dark pigmentation.
