After Sony, who owned the rights to Spider-Man for years, announced the formalization of a partnership with Marvel Studios (Disney group) on February 10, 2015, Spider-Man then made his symbolic return to the universe that saw it born in 1962. Thus drawing a definitive line on the previous film versions, with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
It is the young 20-year-old actor Tom Holland who will be the Peter Parker, Marvel-Disney version, whose new look can be seen here. An old-school costume and mask, reminiscent of the first Spider-Man comics, but also very modern, with blinking eyes.
As for the film, which we will discover in theaters on April 29, it is an adaptation of “Civil War”, a series of comics published in 2007, in seven episodes. This series is what we call a “cross-over”: it brings together superheroes from previously independent series. In that sense, she had a lot of repercussions in the Marvel Universe.
The series describes the enactment of the Super-Human Census Act and its consequences in the Marvel Universe. The law requires anyone with a superpower, or who wears a mask in order to protect citizens from supervillains, to register with an official registry and reveal their secret identity to the authorities so that they they can supervise and control its activities. The superheroes (and the readers) are then divided into two groups: those who are in favor of the law and comply with it out of conviction, or to obtain an amnesty in the case of the supervillains; and those who refuse it on the pretext that it interferes with individual freedoms or threatens the safety of their loved ones.
Spider-Man, initially sided with Iron Man, will realize that he is on the wrong track …
