“The Song of the Year”, presented by Nikos Aliagas, is a show that rewards the artist who has made a mark in recent months with his song. The nominated songs are those that have made the highest ratings on the radio, on Youtube and on audio streaming platforms such as Deezer.

16 artists are nominated

Throughout the evening, some thirty singers will take turns singing their hits, including Patrick Bruel, Pascal Obispo, Tryo, Boulevard des Airs, Yannick Noah, and Amir, the big winner of the last edition.

All the artists who are competing will also be on the set. The nominated songs are:

Vitaa & Slimane – Before you

Heuss L’enfoiré – Moulaga

Claudio Capéo – My Pretty

Dadju – Bobo at heart

Jean-Baptiste Guégan – Go back there

Les Frangines – Give me

Camellia Jordana – Easy

Vianney – Let’s not wait

Hoshi – Love censorship

Benjamin Biolay – How is your grief

Gradur – Don’t come back (feat. Heuss L’Enfoiré)

Bilal Hassani – I still dance

Carla – Bim bam you

Soolking – Meleğim (feat. Dadju)

Aloïse Sauvage – Horizontally

The group Indochine will also be present to celebrate its 40 years of career. They will perform their new single, “Nos célébrations”, and will sing several songs in a row.

“Song of the Year” will take place in Paris.

While the show usually takes place in the arenas of Nîmes, this year it will take place in the Gardens of the Palais Royal in Paris.

This change was due to the health crisis of Covid-19 because the production wanted a place behind closed doors.

To respect the measures of social distancing, there will be no audience. However, so as not to leave the artists alone, a giant screen will project live television viewers from their homes.

Throughout the evening, they will be able to vote live for their favourite song and artist. Voting will be open from the start of the show.

So, who will be the big winner of this 2020 edition?
