This year will take place the national holiday… of the mojito: a first in France not to be missed!

Beer aficionados need only be on their best behaviour: this year, the mythical mojito will also have its own party in the four corners of France. A great first in France, which will not fail to mobilize the many lovers of the rock star of cocktails.

@I Love Mojitos

It’s the start-up I love Mojitos which is positioned at the heart of this major event that will inaugurate the summer in the most beautiful way. on June 23, 24 and 25. During this sunny weekend, many mojito lovers are expected to attend this exceptional event. Montpellier, Lille, Lyon, Paris, Rodez, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Limoges, Nantes and Bordeaux will dance to the rhythm of Cuban culture from the first days of the summer.

Behind this ambitious project lie two long-time cocktail lovers from Montpellier. These two enthusiasts initially wished, without realizing the actual popularity of the drink, create a website dedicated to the lemon rum-based beverage. A collaborative site where many Internet users offer their favourite recipes every day composed of the tangy notes characteristic of the delicious cocktail. Yes, it’s a success: the excitement around the drink is unprecedented, and for good reason: tangy, light, refreshing and resolutely summery, it evokes the idleness of the holidays.

The two partners didn’t expect such success, but were able to hit even harder by offering Internet users an online shop that offers very original productsFrom T-shirts with humorous messages to scented candles and mojito-flavoured lip balms. “Things have been done as we go along, the products we sell are the result of our many contributions, we listen a lot to the requests of Internet users “ explains Fréderic Lemonnier, co-founder of the startup. “Our great success has been the marketing of our mojito straws, a special straw that, unlike traditional straws, does not clog. Now I can’t drink mojitos without this straw! » he jokes.

“There’s got to be a beer party, why not a mojito party? We had to do something about this injustice! »

Recently, the company wanted to broaden the scope of possibilities by organizing a national mojito festival which will be held in June in all the cities of France. A project that echoes the traditional Oktoberfestincluding the most popular, Oktoberfest, which takes place in Munich, Germany, brings together millions of visitors every year : “There’s got to be a beer party, why not a mojito party? We had to do something about this injustice! » justifies Frédéric Lemonnier.

Here again, the Internet users, always at the heart of the project, gave many suggestions to the organizers and 10 cities were selected: “Many people are highly motivated by this project: we launched a survey among drink lovers to measure the general interest: we have received more than 15,000 responses to date.. These results seem to set the tone and associates intend to mobilize all the bars in France for the event: “We need ambassadors in every city in France.”

It is to the managers of the selected establishments that will be entrusted with the organization of the activities that it will be possible to carry out. Cuba will be at the heart of the festivities for a sensational moment under the sign of dance, between mixology workshops and moments of idleness on reserved beaches. An enticing program that balms the heart in these grey and rainy times: a unique experience awaits us.

For the time being, the project is still growing and the partners are full of ideas. A project of mojito pong is being considered and maybe one day, who knows, a festival will come into being.

Choose your city’s favorite establishment on I Love Mojitos and get ready to party all summer long!
